About the event

Workshop 1: Cooking with Friends! - Monday 10/6, 6-8pm

Participants will work in small groups to make fun simple party snacks together and then will get to share their creations with the larger group. They will get to serve their friends, try or discuss the different creations, and discuss their snack preferences and observations.

Workshop 2: Marketing with Stories (part 1) - Monday 10/13, 6-8pm

Learn the three essential parts of a simple story that can be used for any type of marketing. Write and produce a video advertisement using this three-part approach.

Workshop 3: Lights Camera, Questions! How to Interview Like a Pro - Monday 10/20, 6-8pm

This will be a fun, hands-on workshop where students practice interviewing each other on camera. We’ll keep it simple and interactive by learning how to ask good questions, listen closely, and use a phone to record short interviews. The focus is on…

Cooking and Nutrition Participants will brainstorm what foods they already like in the different categories of nutrition. We will practice following directions and the needed steps to prep a simple meal option. Then, discuss together what participants did or did not like about the food they tried.

Monday Workshop #5: 11/3
Yoga & Mindfulness: Move your Body and Calm your Mind Participants will have a chance to learn and practice Yoga poses, breathing exercises, and mindfulness techniques and explore how these tools can be used in daily life. We'll explore a craft based mindfulness exercise. Participants will also have the chance to work together and design a short practice to take home.
