By Noah King

Fredericksburg, Virginia--Tickets for STEPVA’s production of Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo Jr. went on sale March 1, and so far, sales have been going quite swimmingly, with 76 tickets of the 1000 total available sold so far. There are 500 tickets available for each show.

Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo Jr. is the fourth licensed musical to be performed by STEPVA, the 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that “empowers people with disabilities, and their families, through creative expression and sensory exploration.” The organization's first licensed musical, held in 2022, was Disney’s The Lion King, KIDS, followed by You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown in 2023 and Seussical Jr. last year.

The show, based on the Academy-Award winning* 2003 film of the same name, follows the journey of Marlin, a widowed clownfish, to rescue his only son, Nemo, who has been abducted by scuba divers. Along the way, Marlin meets the various creatures beyond his anemone home and, with some help from his new friend Dory, the regal blue tang fish, just might discover that life out in the “Big Blue World” isn’t all that bad.

STEPVA’s production of Disney/Pixar’s Finding Nemo Jr., featuring music by Robert and Kristen-Anderson Lopez (the minds behind the music of Disney’s Frozen franchise, Marvel Studios’ WandaVision and Agatha All Along), will have a two-day showing on April 12th (6:00pm) and April 13th (3:00pm). April 12th’s performance will feature American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation. Priority seating will be available for those with physical limitations, with “general admission” for everyone else. Tickets can be found online at https://www.stepva.org/.
